In
2003 an influential group from both the private and public
sectors was formed to undertake the task of rescuing the pottery and
bringing it into public ownership. Penwith District Council agreed
to lead the project, with the support of Cornwall County Council,
Creative Kernow, Cornwall Enterprise and St Ives Town Council. In
the region of £1m needs to be raised through a combination of
private and public sector funding.
